It’s a bit wordy, a bit too annalitical for me, but I got a lot out of lsrael. We recall that famous writers and authors of literature were initiated in this tradition, and had skills to control their subconscious mentality, thereby optimizing their powers of symbolic storytelling.

It’s not the material that’s at fault here, it’s the way it’s presented; Regardie wasn’t the liveliest of authors at the best of times, granted, but he’s excelled even himself here, in producing the equivalent of a literary tedium-fest. Practical alchemy is concerned with transforming a base material into a higher and more purified substance, such as the turning of a base metal into gold. Regardie expanded upon it and made it public over 60 years ago in the first edition of this book. A classic book regardings the western esoteric tradition and a must-have for any Golden Dawn practitioner.
